Fiskerton chapel in Nottinghamshire is a place in which Christians from all over the country have come together to worship Christ for over thirty years.
In 1998 the chapel was bought from the Methodists in order to become a permanent place of meeting.
It was originally used by Henri Staples, a Newark-based evangelist, who preached a message of joy, freedom and deliverance in and via the Holy Spirit. Throughout the years hundreds of people have come to Fiskerton and have had their lives touched by the Holy Spirit.
Henri's ministry spanned several decades, and thousands of people's lives were touched during what became known as Henri's Glory Meetings. He used audio tapes to spread the message to as many people as possible. Henri's fervent desire was to see people's lives profoundly changed by the unfettered movement of the Holy Spirit.
Henri rejected the formality and constraints of many established church structures, preferring to take the message of the gospel to people directly, and encouraging all believers to manifest the Holy Spirit through testifying God's faithfulness and love, and through praise and 'making a joyful noise unto the Lord'.
Much has changed in the UK and in the world in general since the early days of Henri's ministry, but the essence of what he preached has never been more relevant - Christ in you, the hope of Glory Colossians Ch1v27. "It's in you" as Henri would say
